Daniel Raso is a Practice Leader and heads the Disputes Team at Moores

Daniel partners with his clients to help them avoid and solve problems, so that they can focus on getting on with business.

In his 13+ years specialising in disputes, Daniel has acted in a range of disputes for clients in the business of development, infrastructure, real estate, aged care and retirement living, education, social housing and government.

While he has experience representing clients in all major Victorian jurisdictions including the Supreme Court, Country Court and VCAT – his preference (and knack) is helping clients avoid court. Daniel’s approach is toward early intervention to address challenges before they escalate.

Where heated disputes do arise, Daniel tailors solutions that address his clients' specific needs and objectives. He has a gift for identifying the underlying interests driving disputes and develops creative options to address them.

Daniel is experienced in all forms of alternative dispute resolution and has assisted client with negotiation, mediation, conciliation, expert determination, arbitration and adjudication. His ability to cut through complex disputes and keep a focus on strategy helps his clients avoid hurdles and delays other lawyers may call ‘part of the process’.

Daniel cut his teeth in construction disputes and these still form a major part of his practice. He has a detailed understanding of the construction industry and can assist construction clients with:

  • distressed projects involving (sub)contractor insolvency, non-performance and relationship breakdown;
  • variation, latent condition, delay and defect claims;
  • representation in negotiation, mediation, and other forms of ADR;
  • security of Payment Act claims; and
  • litigation (Court and Tribunal)

Why Moores?

"A place where the interests and objectives of my clients are aligned with those of the firm’s and my own."
