Webinar Recording – Safer Internet Day

Reflecting on key lessons for organisations and actions looking forward.

In support of the global initiative, Safer Internet Day 2020, Moores’ Practice Leader and child safety expert, Skye Rose and Lawyer, Rena Ou Yang discuss key lessons and predictions for areas of focus in 2020.

At a time when adults and children are increasingly connected to the internet, Safer Internet Day encourages everyone to play their part in creating a safe space for individuals online, including organisations. For example, organisations that work with children can help to create a better internet by equipping children and students with digital literacy skills and incorporating cyber considerations into their child safety strategy. Similarly, organisations that work with vulnerable adults such as survivors of violence or individuals with a disability also need to be aware of the risks to best support their clients.

This webinar recording covers:

  • Social media trends
  • Statistics and lessons
  • Child safety developments
  • Key cases and examples
  • Tips for different sectors – schools, universities, domestic violence, councils, sports institutions
  • Apps to look out for – emerging trends and risks
  • Prevention strategies and helpful resources

The Safer Internet Day slogan of “Together for a better internet” encourages everyone to join the movement and acknowledges the importance of being proactive in this developing space.
