James is a Practice Leader in the Private Clients Team at Moores and heads up the Elder Financial Abuse and VCAT Guardianship Disputes Team.
James has extensive experience across all aspects of Wills and Estates practice, with a particular focus on resolving complex disputes regarding wills, trusts, estates, superannuation and Guardianship and Administration.
James also assists clients and family groups with succession planning and structuring, including complex wills, testamentary trusts, asset protection and pro-active measures to avoid family disputes.
As an Accredited Specialist in Wills & Estates and a STEP – Trusts and Estates Practitioner, James brings over 10 year's experience working with private wealth clients to the Moores Estate Administration and Litigation Team.
“In my line of work, you work up-close with and against many lawyers and firms in various challenging scenarios. I had a very high regard for the Moores Private Client’s team from afar for some time and how they went about their work – so I decided to become a part of it.”
Before becoming a lawyer, James was a journalist in the Caribbean where he developed an affinity for jerk chicken, reggae and rum. These days he describes himself as a long-suffering Hawthorn supporter whose three-year-old son still hasn’t seen a premiership. He once enjoyed an inglorious amateur sporting career, but nowadays prefers to play the banjo and guitar when he finds time.
